Savannah Aircraft at Kroon Airfield

By getting the 8th Savannah Kroon Airfield most certainly became the “un official” home of the Savannah Light Sport Aircraft in South Africa.

Kroon Airfield has excellent facilities with secure and affordable hangarage equipped with state of the art alarm systems and cameras. The airfield has a 800 meter well maintained grass runway. The airfield also host both the Flying club and Flight School (Rosslyn MicroFlyers) in a beautiful thatch roof clubhouse with kitchen, braai, bar, shower and toilet facilities. Pilots who visited us will tell you that the tranquil atmosphere is perfect for hosting of air events, like our annual fly-inn and any other private functions or team building sessions. We even had a wedding Function recently at Kroon.

Rosslyn MicroFlyers with an excellent safety record offers initial training, conversions, re-validation flight tests in all categories for the National Pilots License and hire and fly opportunities to our former students. Owner and Chief Flight Instructor Marius Nel together with 3 highly experienced instructors following the RAASA prescribed syllabus are ready to ensure our students get the best in ground School and Flight training at the most affordable rates. We also have a brand new exam centre for the priscribe online exams. Rosslyn MicroFlyers with 23 students at present is probably the fastest growing Flight school in Gauteng.

Our Flying Club committee chaired by Dawie du Toit is active in ensuring the ultimate flying club experience. Our annual Kroon Fly-in is normally held the first or second week in Junie and this is an event not to be missed. You are welcome to join the “Kroon family” every first Saturday of the month for our monthly club Braai. All facilities are free to use for paid up members and we have a self help cash bar stocked by Dawie. Please let him know of your preference so he can cater for your needs.

Other regular local breakfast Fly-aways normaly will be arranged by Chris Vermeulen and he is open to your suggestions.
